The core of SITM's work is providing scholarships and awards. The following awards are available yearly.

Nancy Gomes/Mary Gojack Memorial Scholarship

Who can apply: Women who have interrupted their academic studies and who now wish to continue or begin the pursuit of an undergraduate college degree.
Award Amount: $500 - $6,000

Jack Simon Memorial Scholarship
Who can apply: To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must be accepted and enrolled for a minimum of nine (9) graduate level credits in a graduate program at the University of Nevada, Reno. The scholarship will be awarded upon proof of registration and will be paid in one lump sum.
Award Amount: Maximum of $4,000

Women's Opportunity Award

Who can apply: Women who provide the primary financial support for their families, and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
Award Amount: $1,000 locally up to $10,000 at the national level

Youth Scholarships

Who can apply: Graduating high school seniors in Washoe County who wish to further their education.
Award Amount: $1,600.00, paid in two installments of $800.00 each

Unsung Heros

Who can apply: Girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 18 who attend school in Washoe County.
Award Amount: $200 shopping spree

Nomination Form

Soroptimist Ruby Award

Who can apply: Women who, through their personal or professional activities, are working to improve the lives of other women and girls. Women may nominate themselves or another woman they feel is deserving of this honor.
Award Amount: Up to $1,000 donation to a charitable organization of her choice.Recipients of the club-level award will compete for additional recognition at other levels of the Soroptimist region and federation organization.

Who can be nominated: The Violet Richardson Award is a recognition program for young women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools.
