Work Readiness Program

This seminar aims to help selected women in our community take a step forward toward leading the lives they want and achieving their dreams. In partnership with Job Opportunities In Nevada SITM will offer job and life skills counseling for women who need a little nudge to help them on their way.

When: Early 2011

Where: Eldorado Hotel and Casino, Reno Nevada

Highlights of the Program:

  • Workplace fashion show
  • Job Applications and Preparing for the Job Interview
  • Mock Interviews
  • Money Management
  • Mary Kay “Dash Out the Door” makeovers
  • Clothes Closet
Participants: Jobseekers will be chosen from candidates through JOIN, JobConnect, Bristlecone Family Resources, CASA, The Launching Pad, TMCC Re-entry Program and the Washoe County Public Defender.

Exhibitors: In the past, exhibitors and partners have included: JOIN, Truckee Meadows Community College, Northern Nevada Literacy Council, Associated Builders and Contractors and Children’s Cabinet, Career College of Northern Nevada, Fastrax Corporation, Mary Kay and New Horizons.
