Women Moving Forward

This seminar aims to help selected women in our community take a step forward toward leading the lives they want and achieving their dreams. In partnership with Job Opportunities In Nevada SITM will offer job and life skills counseling for 40 women who need a little nudge to help them on their way.

		Barbara Pierson has been through it all. She is recovering from drug and alcohol abuse and has been sober for more than a decade. Her passion for helping women out of the depths of drug and alcohol addiction and into a better life makes anyone feel that it's possible to get ahead. In March 2005, Barbara used her own resources and opened The Launching Pad to provide a home to women struggling with substance abuse, many of whom are mothers with methamphetamine addictions. The agency provides the only Reno-Sparks independent, non-denominational, 12-step-based, transitional living home for women.
